Looking at the implementation of the 2030 Agenda from our present viewpoint, strongly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is mandatory to search for approaches that can be trusted to contain the impact of the global health crisis and maximize the capability of the international community to fulfill its commitment in terms of the 17 SDGs. The argument put forward in this essay is that the lessons learned from conflict transformation and resolution are very relevant in this regard. Building on the full recognition of the complex interdependence among the various goals, and consequently adopting a systemic approach while addressing the different challenges, is the first component of a dual strategy. The second lever is inclusion, crucial in conflict-thorn contexts to avoid marginalization, but equally decisive in order to implement the 2030 Agenda by mobilizing all those who can contribute in societies, particularly women and young people. The action of the United Nations, because of its extraordinary experience and thanks to its truthfulness with its original mandate, is key to achieve the full synergy of these components.

Abstract
The action of the United Nations, because of its extraordinary experience and thanks to its truthfulness with its original mandate, is key to achieve the full synergy of these components.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
