The article approaches, from a historical case located in the north of Quito, the subject of the relation between struggle for the lands, urban marginality and conflict in Latin America. Through the study of the conflict between two cooperatives - Pisul  and Rold s - in the 1980s, we tried to de-construct the concept of "invasion", seeing it not as the result of disorderly and unplanned actions "from below", but how The result of multiple interactions between different political levels. In this way, we intend to question the possibility of considering the marginal areas of cities as a spatial expression of certain social, political or economic conflicts, showing how these are developed at various levels. By attempting to approach the concept of "invasion" and "conflict" differently, the article concludes that marginal territories can be considered as physical spaces where class conflicts are concretised from a spatial point of view.
