Air blasters are widely used for the application of Plant Protection Products (PPP) in citrus. An optimal vertical distribution pattern of the spray cloud, adapted as closely as possible to the vegetation density, shape and size of the canopy is essential for increasing the PPP depositcon the target and reducing the PPP losses that may cause side effects to the environment and may increase risk hazard to bystanders and residents close to the fields. An objective of the LIFE-PERFECT project (LIFE12 ENV/ES/000729) is aimed at reducing the environmental and human risks of PPP application by developing user-friendly, drift reducing tools. This work describes a database of vertical distribution pattern obtained by air-blasters commonly used for applying PPP in citrus at different configurations. This information is available in the web application namely Citrus VESPA and allows growers to interpret how changes in the adjustment of their equipment affect the vertical spray distribution and the drift risks.

Abstract
This information is available in the web application namely Citrus VESPA and allows growers to interpret how changes in the adjustment of their equipment affect the vertical spray distribution and the drift risks.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
