This chapter examines if and at what extent specific methods and tools that pertain to the digital dimension, if used starting with primary school, may promote and strenghten children’s ability to think critically and exercise judgement. Teachers have a key role in initiating these processes that will accompany the whole course of life of each learner to make her/him become an active citizen in the future society. Factors and attitudes that may enhance or hinder these skills will be analysed and discussed, reflecting also on how critical thinking and judgment skills developed in the digital dimension reverberate in the physical reality (Kirschner & De Bruyckere, 2017; Lombardi et al, 2021; Mertala & Salomaa, 2020).

Abstract
This chapter examines if and at what extent specific methods and tools that pertain to the digital dimension, if used starting with primary school, may promote and strenghten children’s ability to think critically and exercise judgement. Teachers have a key role in initiating these processes that will accompany the whole course of life of each learner to make her/him become an active citizen in the future society. Factors and attitudes that may enhance or hinder these skills will be analysed and discussed, reflecting also on how critical thinking and judgment skills developed in the digital dimension reverberate in the physical reality (Kirschner & De Bruyckere, 2017; Lombardi et al, 2021; Mertala & Salomaa, 2020).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
