The work starts from the observation of the new EU strategies FarmToFork and Biodiversity, the implementation of which should result in the next decade in greater attention to the protection of biodiversity, and the use of at least 25% of agricultural areas according to organic farming methods. With this premise, the work is focused on the observation of the current consistency (stocktaking) of the Alpine agricultural areas affected by organic agriculture, particularly in the countries that are part of the Alpine Convention, and on the definition of possible future scenarios for the development of organic agriculture in these alpine areas, which will naturally be influenced both by consumers' sensitivities towards organic foods, and also by the trend in incomes and purchasing capacities, closely correlated to the economic growth rates of the various countries and by the inflation rate.
