The downstream value chains of agriculture and forestry play a crucial role in Alpine areas. For local people, they represent an indispensable activity and source of income to remain active in the territories. The production processes implemented (crops and livestock) - carried out according to traditional methods - allow to have continuous control and maintenance activities on the territories, safeguarding the environment but also the cultural traditions of "know-how" according to ancient knowledge. The work focuses on the most effective strategies that can be used for Alpine areas and their agricultural and handicraft products, so that the added value to agricultural and forestry raw materials remains to the effective advantage of local populations, without being dispersed to other operators in the distribution chain.
