Elderly population is growing decades by decades and vertebral osteoporotic fractures have a high impact on quality of life and rates of mortality. In the literature, many conservative and surgical treatments have been described, and recently, percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) devices have been proposed in order to tackle the increasing need for fast recovery and pain relief in elderly. In this review, we evaluate the current literature about the characteristics of these new generation devices evaluating indications, contraindication, limits and complications related to their use.

Abstract
