A central aim of this study is to reflect on how the memory of the war and the post-war period in Spain is recreated and problematised in Almudena Grandesʼ "Episodios de una guerra interminable" in order to contribute to the broader question of the relationship between history and literature. In this sense, the work questions the limits between History and Literature in the framework of the novel, taking into account that both are characterised by a reciprocal impregnation. Therefore, the present research investigates the possible meanings of the representation of the past as a conflict in the genre of the realistic novel. The innovative character of this project lies in the idea of treating literary texts as a complex way of knowing and understanding the recent past and its effects on the present. The author analyses the narrative with its emotional charge, the articulation of gender, the selection of historical actors and the meaning of their actions, as well as the power of the discourse on the past to articulate communities and identity collectives. Consequently, the author brings to light the games of memory about the historical past and its influence on History as a discipline.

Abstract
Consequently, the author brings to light the games of memory about the historical past and its influence on History as a discipline.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
