The objective of this article is to discuss the strategies used by different groups of people who hear voices, to cope with such experience. This is an ethnographic study carried out with italian groups of voice listeners. The data, that were obtained in the period between October 2014 and January 2016, through participant observation, with records in field diaries, demonstrate that coping strategies in group space, such as dialogue with the voices, the search for information and writing about them are important to overcome difficulties arising from this experience and stimulates the protagonism of those who hear them.
