This chapter aims to provide a systematic review of the literature about visual art training experiences carried out through AI at the elementary school level. The review presents the 16 selected studies (from among the 254 reviewed in full) and reports on the methodological aspects, promising aspects and limits of these experiences. Studies have found that visual art training experiences conducted through AI in elementary schools have already shown effective results, encouraging the development of specific skills in terms of both collaboration and self-improvement. Given the research findings, this study proposes to rethink design guidelines for setting up aesthetic educational experiences using AItech in elementary schools with a view to promoting the development of critical and ethical thinking in children, not only from a technical-artistic perspective but also and especially to manage the human–AItech relationship in a way that is responsible and attentive to its inherent complexity.
