This paper delves into the intricate interplay between a stadial perception of time and its profound influence on the formation of identity, particularly within the spheres of colonialism and ableism. The author posits that a linear, hierarchical interpretation of history has served as a legitimizing framework for both colonialist and ableist ideologies, perpetuating a Eurocentric viewpoint. Drawing on a comprehensive array of disciplines including philosophy, history, and disability studies, the author elucidates how the notion of progress has historically underpinned the suppression of non-Western cultures and individuals with disabilities. The primary aim of this study is to elaborate upon the concept of a historical multiverse and multi-dimensional temporalities, showcasing how unidirectional interpretations of temporality are integral to the colonial project. This exploration remains pertinent not only in the context of colonialism but also within the domain of ableism. In doing so, the author invites readers to engage with a nuanced perspective that challenges prevalent assumptions, fostering a deeper understanding of the multifaceted relationships between temporal constructs, identity formation, and socio-political power dynamics.

Abstract
In doing so, the author invites readers to engage with a nuanced perspective that challenges prevalent assumptions, fostering a deeper understanding of the multifaceted relationships between temporal constructs, identity formation, and socio-political power dynamics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
