This is a summary of the author’s PhD thesis supervised by Andrea Grosso and Enrico Bini, and defended on 18 September 2023 at the University of Turin. The thesis is written in English and is available from the author upon request at alessandro.druetto@unito.it. This work deals with the study of hard scheduling problems in contexts with constrained resources. In particular, the investigation has been focused on two lines: the study of a complicate family of parallel batch scheduling problems and the development of efficient algorithms for several variants of the problem; the development and application of ad-hoc assignment and scheduling algorithms for specific problems that arise in automotive embedded systems.
