Abstract

In this paper, we address the gap between the editing and delivery of stories in interactive digital storytelling. Our system, “Doppi-oGioco” (DoublePlay), provides a software platform for training authors to deal with the response of the audience since the story editing phase. Offline, the author attaches emotional information to each story chunk; on stage, the author and the audience construct together the storytelling experience, in a software-enabled live game where the system responds at each turn to the emotional response of the audience.
