In this report we focus specifically on API orchestration for application workflows. The need for a detailed presentation of this element stems from the presence in the H2IOSC Marketplace technical terms of contract (‘capitolato’) of the ability to create “Level 2” services as aggregations that are not purely descriptive. Within these aggregations, the Marketplace must then be able to orchestrate for the user, from a dedicated space, the remote execution of individual “Level 1” services, without either processing or passing data between services committing Marketplace resources. An example scenario for implementing this orchestration is presented here, and guidelines for developing an API Management system according to the functional requirements that emerged from the Marketplace design phase are made explicit.
