This contribution describes an action-research initiative carried out by secondary school teacherswho formed a local network to address a pressing need identified in their everyday practice.Confronted with students presenting complex communication needs, these teachers faced thechallenge of guaranteeing these students’ right to participate in cultural life, as mandated by Article30 of the 2006 UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The outcome is a picturebook, translated into AAC symbols, that tells the story of Telemachus’s journey.
