Abstract

A consistent specification of quantitative processing characteristics is of crucial importance in order to obtain an efficient logical and physical database design. In this paper we propose a flow analysis of a Petri net representation of the interaction among operations within an organization ` function. The result of this analysis it the automatic derivation of the operation activation frequencies. The project environment to which this analysis is relevant is also described.
