The problem of multimicroprocessor system performance evaluation is discussed, in sight of the utilization of performance prediction tools as design guidelines. Key points in the performance evaluation process are reviewed, and the construction of models is discussed along with both analysis and simulation techniques. The literature on the crossbar multiprocessors is reviewed in order to provide a significant example.
