Linear degenerate parabolic equations are investigated when the Dirichlet data are prescribed on the characteristic according to Fichera points of the boundary. Some typical nonlinear phenomena as boundary gradient blow up of the solutions are shown. In some cases the exact singularity of the solution at the characteristic points of the boundary is described.

Abstract
