Over the past years, enterprises experimented great difficulties adapting themselves to rapidly changing circumstances. For this reason, they began to analyse methodologies designed to organize, manage and measure their organization, starting from their core processes, in order to improve their products and to be more and more efficient. Our research evolved from the study of an Abstract Process (AP) model based on the object-oriented paradigm. This abstract model have been applied to the analysis of a small and medium manufacturing industry case study. Therefore, generic building blocks have been built, so as they can be composed to represent the original processes. Using pre-built building blocks allows to raise efficiency and effectiveness, encouraging flexibility and promoting reuse inside the analysis, design and implementation phases.

Abstract
Over the past years, enterprises experimented great difficulties adapting themselves to rapidly changing circumstances. For this reason, they began to analyse methodologies designed to organize, manage and measure their organization, starting from their core processes, in order to improve their products and to be more and more efficient. Our research evolved from the study of an Abstract Process (AP) model based on the object-oriented paradigm. This abstract model have been applied to the analysis of a small and medium manufacturing industry case study. Therefore, generic building blocks have been built, so as they can be composed to represent the original processes. Using pre-built building blocks allows to raise efficiency and effectiveness, encouraging flexibility and promoting reuse inside the analysis, design and implementation phases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
