All the adopted approaches to community oriented tools seem to underestimate two important features of the office systems, namely compliance with regulations and support to cooperation. Access control can be viewed as a powerful tool for auditing. We define the main features of an extremely dynamic access control mechanism for an object oriented system, where users are described, besides their personal identity, by their role, which are modelled by a specific kind of objects, called Hat.
