In these notes we present a review, which has no claim to be complete, of some aspects of the recent literature on mathematical modelling of tumors. The goal is much more to gather the popular models, as a kind of general introduction into the field, rather than to provide their detailed analysis. These notes are used for the new course in Biomathematics, recently opened for the degree in Mathematics at the University of Torino. The basic bibliography provided at the end might be useful to the prospective reader in locating further references, by looking at the literature cited in the papers here reported.

Abstract

In these notes we present a review, which has no claim to be complete, of some aspects of the recent literature on mathematical modelling of tumors. The goal is much more to gather the popular models, as a kind of general introduction into the field, rather than to provide their detailed analysis. These notes are used for the new course in Biomathematics, recently opened for the degree in Mathematics at the University of Torino. The basic bibliography provided at the end might be useful to the prospective reader in locating further references, by looking at the literature cited in the papers here reported.
