We study the localization of accumulated metals in organs such as gills, nephron, mantle and digestive gland. Applying the method of cryostabilization in Ethylene Glycol at about -20°C, followed by infiltration and polymerization of Glycol Methacrylate (Technovit 7100) resin at about 6-10°C, we are able to detect the presence of Zn++ sequestering ability in the filtering cells and in brown cells of the mantle; these cells are certainly active in the process of metal detoxification.

Abstract
We study the localization of accumulated metals in organs such as gills, nephron, mantle and digestive gland. Applying the method of cryostabilization in Ethylene Glycol at about -20°C, followed by infiltration and polymerization of Glycol Methacrylate (Technovit 7100) resin at about 6-10°C, we are able to detect the presence of Zn++ sequestering ability in the filtering cells and in brown cells of the mantle; these cells are certainly active in the process of metal detoxification.File in questo prodotto:
