N° 137 brains of regularly slaughtered Black pigs were examined. N° 75 didn’t have any lesions, 45,25% of samples showed histological lesions. Inflammations were most frequent than degenerations. Perivascular cuffings, arteritis and meningeal flogosis were the most important observed lesions. Arteritis are probably caused by a reaction of the immune system to previous viral or bacterial infections. In n° 5 brains we found parasitic cyst without inflammation. The result of this preliminary study suggests to increase clinical and pathological surveillance to identify dangerous diseases for consumer and other animals.

Abstract
N° 137 brains of regularly slaughtered Black pigs were examined. N° 75 didn’t have any lesions, 45,25% of samples showed histological lesions. Inflammations were most frequent than degenerations. Perivascular cuffings, arteritis and meningeal flogosis were the most important observed lesions. Arteritis are probably caused by a reaction of the immune system to previous viral or bacterial infections. In n° 5 brains we found parasitic cyst without inflammation. The result of this preliminary study suggests to increase clinical and pathological surveillance to identify dangerous diseases for consumer and other animals.File in questo prodotto:
