The authors report the preliminary data of an investigation about the presence of tuberculosis in Nebrodi Black pigs, a breed-population of wild pigs that live in the Natural Park of Nebrodi in Sicilia. During 2003 719 wild pigs aged from 8 to 24 months were slaughtered. Post-mortem examination and histological investigations permit to identify granulomatous lesions in n° 65 pigs (9.04%). Moreover the authors discuss about problems of public health relatively to life condition of Nebrodi Black pig.
