Comparing six countries in representation of different welfare state regimes, the article focuses on reconciliation issues. The first part analyses female and couples occupational models, from male breadwinner, to one-and-half to dual earner family model. It underlines the interferences between family and work, the different national solution and the potential trade-off. The second part of the article focuses on the role of employers, and in particular of family friendly policies, in facilitating reconciliation issues.
