In order to properly study climate variations, homogeneous series are needed (Maugeri et al., 2006; Peterson et al., 1998). We have therefore analysed 21 meteorological stations of Piedmont owned by SIMN (National Hydrographic and Sea Service) in the 1951-2003 period. We have set up a monthly series for every station and then we have applied the SNHT test for their homogenization (Alexandersson et al., 1997). These methods allowed us to estimate the real trends for each series. On the other hand, the non-parametric Mann- Kendall (MK) test has been used to understand the statistical meaning of the trend for the thermal-pluviometric series of Piedmont.

Abstract
In order to properly study climate variations, homogeneous series are needed (Maugeri et al., 2006; Peterson et al., 1998). We have therefore analysed 21 meteorological stations of Piedmont owned by SIMN (National Hydrographic and Sea Service) in the 1951-2003 period. We have set up a monthly series for every station and then we have applied the SNHT test for their homogenization (Alexandersson et al., 1997). These methods allowed us to estimate the real trends for each series. On the other hand, the non-parametric Mann- Kendall (MK) test has been used to understand the statistical meaning of the trend for the thermal-pluviometric series of Piedmont.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
