Economic evaluation of water resources is one of the most interesting concepts of Directive 2000/60. An analysis of the economic aspects of irrigation concerning several cultures (maize, peach and tomato) in Piedmont region is presented. The analysis concerns the impact of three different scenarios (yield drop, price decrease, costs increase) on model farms, in terms of revenues, costs and net income, in order to explore the effects of water shortages.
