Pulp of fleshy fruits is extremely rich in water. As a consequence the classical protocols of fixation and embedding in hydrophilic media produce severe shrinkage of the tissue with critical damages to the cell walls. We tested the embedding in hydrophilic glycol-methacrylate resin (Technovit 7100 - Kulzer). The cell walls are less shrinked than with classical protocol, and the results are achieved in a shorter time and with a less expensive procedure.

Abstract
Pulp of fleshy fruits is extremely rich in water. As a consequence the classical protocols of fixation and embedding in hydrophilic media produce severe shrinkage of the tissue with critical damages to the cell walls. We tested the embedding in hydrophilic glycol-methacrylate resin (Technovit 7100 - Kulzer). The cell walls are less shrinked than with classical protocol, and the results are achieved in a shorter time and with a less expensive procedure.File in questo prodotto:
