An antenna for ion cyclotron resonance heating, having a radiating segment (5a;5b) including a quadrupole formed by a first and a second strap (1a,1b), the first strap having a first and a second terminal, the second strap having a third and a fourth terminal, the first terminal defining an input terminal (A;B) of the radiating segment, the fourth terminal defining an output terminal (A',B') of the radiating segment. The quadrupole further includes a tuning waveguide (10a;10b) connected to the first and the second strap, the tuning waveguide being such that the reactive part of an impedance at the input terminal of the radiating segment is substantially null.

Abstract
