Purpose: To evaluate relationship between ganglion cell complex (GCC), retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thicknesses measured by Fourier domain OCT (FD-OCT) RTVue-100 and refractive error (RE) in early glaucoma. Methods: RNFL and GCC parameters were measured with FD-OCT in 65 eyes (Group 1: no RE; Group 2: myopic eyes; Group 3: hypermetropic eyes). Correlation with RE was assessed (Pearson test). Results: GCC and RNFL thicknesses exhibited no correlation with RE in either Group 2 (RNFL average P = .16; GCC average P = .61) or Group 3 (RNFL average P = .06; GCC average P = .32). Conclusion: GCC and RNFL thicknesses are not related to RE and can be used to assess glaucoma damage.

Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate relationship between ganglion cell complex (GCC), retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thicknesses measured by Fourier domain OCT (FD-OCT) RTVue-100 and refractive error (RE) in early glaucoma. Methods: RNFL and GCC parameters were measured with FD-OCT in 65 eyes (Group 1: no RE; Group 2: myopic eyes; Group 3: hypermetropic eyes). Correlation with RE was assessed (Pearson test). Results: GCC and RNFL thicknesses exhibited no correlation with RE in either Group 2 (RNFL average P = .16; GCC average P = .61) or Group 3 (RNFL average P = .06; GCC average P = .32). Conclusion: GCC and RNFL thicknesses are not related to RE and can be used to assess glaucoma damage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
