26 fragments of Red Polished ware from a survey in the Kouris River Valley were analyzed in order to investigate the technology of production. At present, very few archaeometric studies on this ceramic class have been published. With the present paper we start a systematic physico-chemical characterization using different techniques. The first approach was an evaluation of the morphological features of the ceramic surface and a compositional study to check for possible classification of the analyzed sherds.

Abstract
26 fragments of Red Polished ware from a survey in the Kouris River Valley were analyzed in order to investigate the technology of production. At present, very few archaeometric studies on this ceramic class have been published. With the present paper we start a systematic physico-chemical characterization using different techniques. The first approach was an evaluation of the morphological features of the ceramic surface and a compositional study to check for possible classification of the analyzed sherds.File in questo prodotto:
