Abstract

In leaves and cell suspensions of two near isogenic lines of pepper, susceptible and resistant to Phytophthora capsici, inoculated with P. nicotianae var. parasitica, the activity of a pool of enzymes were compared to ascertain whathever preinfectional differences or postinfectional variations are correlated to the resistance of pepper to Phytophthora and to chek the suitability to this purpose of cultured cells compared to leaves.
