The selection of new yellow pulp kiwifruit varieties is increasing in the last years mainly for agronomical and economical reasons. An early harvesting time might avoid the risks of frost damages whereas a previous commercialization could turn out with higher prices. Jingold® cv Jintao is a new cultivar of Actinidia chinensis that is harvested 10‐15 days before the cv ‘Hayward’. The aim of the study was the characterization of this new variety at harvest and during post‐harvest storage period. Fruit were harvested at commercial maturity and weighed immediately. Than were cold stored at 0°C in Normal Atmosphere for 20 weeks. At harvest and weekly during post‐harvest storage, fruit weigh loss, dry matter, total soluble solids content (SSC), firmness and titratable acidity (TA) were determined. Earlier harvesting time showed better quality at harvest and during post‐harvest life.
