The aim of this study is to investigate how sports activity can affect the emotional and psychological growth of young people during their preadolescence. The sample (10-14 years old) made up of 100 girls has been subdivided in working team (EG) and controlling group (CG). The reference group includes 50 girl athletes coming from the competitive sector of 5 different sports disciplines, that is to say athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, swimming and judo; the CG is made up of 50 girl students of the secondary school who do not practise competitive sports activity.
