BVDV is a member of genus Pestivirus in the family of Flaviviridae. Pesitvirus infections in cattle represent major concerns wordwide, leading to signifi cant economic losses. One of the new putative species is BVDV type 3 (Hobi-like), isolated from a batch of fetal bovine serum and then isolated from natural infections in cattle. BVDV structural protein E2 is the major target for neutralizing antibodies, which confers protec on after either infection or vaccination. Objective of the study is the search of E2 antibodies of BVDV1,2 and 3 in bulk tank milk. E2 of BVDV1, 2 and 3 were produced in a secreted form in the medium of a mammalian cell line and the medium containing E2 was directly employed for the development of a diagnostic ELISA assay. E2 protein expression resulted diff erent between three types: E2 BVDV1 resulted 400 times more expressed than BVDV3. Preliminary data underline the presence of BVDV1 in positive herds, few positive for BVDV2 and just one for BVDV3.

Abstract
Preliminary data underline the presence of BVDV1 in positive herds, few positive for BVDV2 and just one for BVDV3.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
