Testicular sperm aspiration (TESA) – a procedure routinely applied in human medicine for obtaining sperm cells utilised in IVF – was applied in tom cats ablated testis and the main seminal parameters were evaluated on recovered cells in order to verify the quality of available semen samples. The technique allowed semen recovery in physiological situations for managerial preference or in case of poor libido or after orchiectomy and post mortem too. The technique offers by one side, an additional genetic resource for Assistant Reproductive Programmes (ART) on domestic and wild feline, by the other side a better standardisation of the semen manipulation procedures and the description of the parameters on reproductive performances for an IVF application.
