This contibute evaluates the CUBITO project, a public engagement initiative launched in 2024 by the University of Turin to disseminate sustainability knowledge in the Biella region. Unlike purely descriptive accounts, this study employs attendance monitoring and demographic analysis of 987 participants across 22 events to assess the reach and impact of the initiative. The analysis reveals a high level of ecological validity, with 52.7% of the audience comprised of citizens, indicating successful knowledge democratization. The paper further explores the role of micro-credentialing via Open Badges, documenting the framework's alignment with EQF and DigComp standards. While the initiative shows strong quantitative outreach, limitations regarding long-term behavioral change and the preliminary nature of qualitative interview data are discussed to provide a balanced evaluation of its effectiveness. The study acknowledges limitations regarding the long-term impact measurement beyond initial attendance metrics.
