This chapter explores the design and pedagogical implications of the Betta-the-Bee game, which provides a context for children to engage with logical reasoning. The game involves three phases: examining cards with specific goals, asking questions to make decisions, and discarding cards according to the received answer. The three phases integrate semantic and logical control, which are fundamental in later development of mathematical problem-solving and proof-related activities. The game has been trialled in kindergarten and home setting and empirical observations were made. Results reveal that challenges arise during the formulation of questions and in dealing with negation and material implication in the discarding phase. Furthermore, the teacher appears to play a critical role in guiding children’s observation and in supporting questions formulation.
