The transition from the old to the new economy has been marked by a rapid dissemination of “new technologies”. As today’s society is characterized by the search for “speed” in any type of operation, the desire to make purchases on-line is spreading rapidly. The Internet enables potential consumers to discover new products and to purchase them without having to go to a sales outlet and enables producers and retailers to increase their turnovers. The paper examines several sites dedicated to the promotion and/or sale of traditional Piedmont products.
