This review aims to investigate the studies carried out on the topic of food insecurity among university students in the different geographical areas of the world. In fact, food insecurity also exists on campuses: the cost of living, income, public / financial aid and loans, budget, dietary priority and socio-demographic variables are some of the factors that influence the level of access to food of university students. In particular, food insecurity affects students’ physical health, mental health and academic performance. The review results show the first part of a research that would provide for a more in-depth level of contents assessment of the selected articles. This future activity will be aimed at identifying the ability of the various selected studies to answer research questions and, then, highlighting any gaps in the relationship between university students and food insecurity.
